Log Cabin in the Woods

One block off main is the mural that has been the favorite by many. It portrays the panorama of the local area of the pine hills and a time in history when the Forsyth area was just coming into it’s own.
The log cabin was designed to incorporate the only two windows in the large wall of the Independent Press newspaper office. When finished, the windows became a very realistic part of the mural. The path from the cabin leads to a walking bridge crossing a stream that would be perfect to fish from. Wild flowers along the bank add extra color and the Montana state bird is perched in song.

The buffalo were a large part of the past and a herd is seen grazing in the distance among the rolling hills. The lush green of the grass in the foreground ties right in with the green lawn of the adjacent park area. This is the third of the murals in Forsyth.
